Our last week in Bali...

Hi all,

We have moved hotel and are stayed at the Swiss-Belhotel in Nusa Dua, this is meant to be the posh part of Bali but it is just allot quieter and allot of Russian people!!!

On Monday we had a tranfer from our beloved Villa to a Hotel…the Swiss-Belhotel, we arrived and immediately new this was going to be different. The room was smaller and the staff nowhere as friendly as at the Seminyak Villa…but we kept our head high and made the best off it. After dinner and a night sleep (more awake than a sleep) we thought we could chill out at the pool but, there were no sunbeds left…I can hear you think…oh they are late and all the 50-100 sunbeds are taken…NO all

11 sunbeds were taken. A hotel with more than 200 rooms and only 11 sunbeds divided by 2 pools :-) …

So Lynds was not having it and we went down to reception…first she explained that the room was noisy because there were 3 air-conditioning vans on our balcony which was located next to the bed, very very noisy….then the sunbeds at the pool…and after 15 minutes speaking to the manager we were upgraded to a suite :-) … + sunbeds were brought to the 6th roof pool floor for us.

The next couple of days we went back to Kuta and explored the shopping mall and went to Nusa Dua to explore the Bali collection (tourist shops and restaurants) and the famous beach…+ we visited the Bali Safari were we saw elephants, tigers, lions, orangutan's and piranhas.

We only had one dilemma and that was what are we doing with our last 2 days?? After 5 minutes of arguing we were searching the internet for a hotel in Kuta and found the Dekuta hotel. On Saturday the 19th of June we were picked up from Nusa Dua and were brought to our new hotel…and this hotel and its location is perfect just off the main road so all the hustle and bustle on our doorstep, the room is big enough, clean and cool.

Today the 20th of June we have been to the beach for 3 hours but because it is so warm here sitting in the sun any longer is a NO GO….coming back to the hotel we went for a swim in the pool and relaxed in the room before going out for some dinner…dinner we had in a restaurant were we ate yesterday, good food and even better is the price…today we had 2 drinks, a starter and a main course each for a grand total of £8,- …

Hypokalemia

Hypokalemia is a lower-than-normal amount of potassium in the blood.

Causes

Potassium is needed for cells, especially nerve and muscle cells, to function properly. You get potassium through food. The kidneys remove excess potassium in the urine to keep a proper balance of the mineral in the body.

Hypokalemia is a metabolic disorder that occurs when the level of potassium in the blood drops too low.

Possible causes of hypokalemia include :
  • Certain antibiotics (carbenicillin, gentamicin, amphotericin B)
  • Certain drugs, called diuretics, that can cause excess urination
  • Diarrhea (including the use of too many laxatives, which can cause diarrhea)
  • Diseases that affect the kidney's ability to retain potassium (for example, Liddle syndrome, Cushing syndrome, hyperaldosteronism, Bartter syndrome, Fanconi syndrome)
  • Eating disorders (such as bulimia)
  • Eating large amounts of licorice or using products such as herbal teas and chewing tobaccos that contain licorice made with glycyrrhetinic acid (this substance is no longer used in licorice made in the United States)
  • Sweating
  • Vomiting
